The Eritrean Referendum
We must pledge to defend vigorously their legacy, the independence and sovereignty of Eritrea. We must keep their honor by keeping Eritrea safe in every possible way, which means that we have to be aware, able to identify threats internal and external and deal with it effectively. To honor them we must live the life they wanted our young generations to live, a life free from fear and one that is filled with hope and inspired by their vision, principles and dedication.
We must realize that their dedication was manifested by the hard work they put on Eritrea by digging trenches, building roads, hospitals, schools, etc… simultaneously, while facing threats from every direction and overcame it victoriously fulfilling their VISION, Independent Eritrea! They based every thing on their principles, principles that are embedded deep into the Eritrean psyche for generation and principles that are born out of necessity and love for one another.
Therefore, we need to be smart on how we view our Eritrea and keep it a reflection of those who passed by following their lead and examples and be certain as they have, to be responsible citizens to secure the successes they enjoyed. Every thing they initiated started from a vision, so we must unite on a vision of a UNITED Eritrea. We must be united on the name of our martyrs, to safeguard as they have, to build, nurture Eritrea and realize there is no foreign body to work for your interest.
Eritrea needs all of us, young, old, man and woman to pledge to never abandon it, and most importantly to not look kindly at those who want to harm it, particularly those who align with enemies to, in effect to undo the hard earned freedom. They want to take us back to the pre 1961 era, to re-colonize Eritrea in the name of freedom and sham democracy.
We must pledge to work hard to educate our people, lift the standards, change the life of every individual for the better in line with the times by understanding every thing good starts very little, and grow to success like the Independence of Eritrea. The idea of armed struggle for independent Eritrea initiated by one man Idris Awate and grew in a short time because it is the right idea. We must understand that to build a road is not to toil in order to create a line or a pavement; it is a blood line for a country, a business facilitator and access to every aspect of the Eritrean way of life, tourism, and a reason for pride. We must carry on that line of thinking to realize our dreams, we need to make small initiatives from every direction and let it flourish like Eritrea is 17 years later, truly against ALL ODDS, thanks to the dedication, blood, leadership and sacrifices by all Eritreans in and out of Eritrea!
Happy Independence Day Eritrea! Awet N-Hafash!
